How about politely calling and asking to get them back?
If that won't work out, do you have a friend who is pretty low-key and even keel who could go ask for them for you?
Try to de-escalate any potential problems. Take the high road. _________________ http://kyokushinchick.blogspot.com/

I'm assuming you've have gotten them back by now, but in case not, then I would go to the dojo directly and ask to get the gloves back. If that doesn't work, then see if someone or another adult can go get them for you. _________________ Tang Soo Do - Red Belt (2nd GUP) |

The best way to get them back is to be level-headed and ask. Maybe if you 'know' it will go badly, record the conversation in case you decide that you have to take them to court (note... each jurisdiction has different laws, even those regarding monitoring of conversations...).
If this is impossible, try to get a letter written asking for them back and send it certified mail... this will also start towards working for evidentiary proof of service and asking. In the end, it will be hard to prove WHO actually has them so good luck... and if you can afford to, be prepared to write them off. _________________ It is what you learn when you think you know everything that matters most!
