There aren't a lot of post about Ninjitsu, So I was wondering Who can tell me what the correlation between the Ninja and the wolf is. Several years ago I did about 3 months of research (that was several hours each night for about three months) into what the correlation between the ninja and the wolf, because when you research Ninja's, you will run across many pictures or drawings that will show a Ninja and a wolf together. After some input from other martial artist I will post what I found in my research as I am kind of curious if someone else has this same information..... |

Its interesting to think about. Perhaps it was just something someone liked a long time ago, linked themselves to it, and it stuck?
Wolves tend to run in packs, accept for the "lone wolf," which is an exception rather than the rule. Maybe its an allusion to this lone wolf mentality. _________________ www.haysgym.com

The Honshu Wolf (now extinct) was the "guardian of the Mountains".
Apparrently, sightings of this particular wolf (endamic to Japan, and not by any means resembling the Alaskan type wolves most people picture) were very rare, to the point it was described as "spirit" like.
Then there is the myth of children being abandoned and raised by wolves.................. _________________ "We did not inherit this earth from our parents.

It has been several years since I researched the Ninja and the Wolf
And I can't remember the website as I did not write it down, but this
was all I could find and it was just a saying about the Ninja and the
Wolf and it goes like this :
The way of the Ninja is the way of the Wolf.
Intelligent, adaptable, and always looking for
a way to survive.
I do not remember who wrote this or where I found it, but I thought it was
A good descriptive saying about the Ninja. _________________ When you understand a technique, you know a technique. When you understand a concept, you know a thousand techniques. |

Wolves might be cool...but honestly one would think a cat a better representation of the Ninja training.
Especially my cat Inky. Pitch black and overly cautious; Inky is a cat that ALWAYS sees you before you see him. He hides in the shadows in the daytime and is most active at night. (seriously incredibly hard to find him at night...the cat is masterful at finding the darkest part of a dark room...you can look right at him and see absolutely nothing...he even tilts his head so you have a hard time seeing his lit up eyes...like I said MASTER of the dark)
Moves very quietly and often likes to be very high up on a ledge or something.
Compared to a wolf Inky IS a Ninja. |
