Principles and theories in martial arts.

Are these helpful to your performance and personal development?

Can your chosen style survive without them?

Are they the foundation and or keystone to your martial art?

How important are principles and theories in martial arts to you?

Yes, they are; compasses to weigh upon.

Honestly...I don't care one bent pin or not. It's the individual's betterment that I care more about. The style, if I may be as bold, is just a thing.

Of my MA? No, not really. Individually, well, that's a complete other thing, and to that, yes, they are the foundation and/or keystone to my MA betterment.

Without them, anarchy and havoc rear up their ugly heads unchecked.

Having structure and principles to work from is essential in so many parts of our lives. I'd say that these topics aren't only necessary in martial arts, but in everyday life. Sometimes it takes something like a martial art to realize this, however!
