Has anyone heard of Cung Le he's the world champion Sanshou Fighter, pretty incredible fighter. Has anyone seen Sanshou Fights? Where did they originate? If anyone knows, I think it would be interesting to discuss.

I have seen him fight, but it has been a while. Last I saw him fight was Shonnie Carter, but to be quite honest I stopped following a while ago, after he set up matches outside the IKF.

San Shou is the sport evolution of Kung-fu challenge matches, just a common ground for all styles to compete.

Thanks Iron Arahat, how do you think Cung would do in UFC? I think he would get recked.

He's pretty well rounded, as a former Sambo Champ. Frank Shamrock once stated that Cung Le could toss him around fairly easily until it went to the ground. But then again, how many fighters can hang with Frank on the ground?

For those of you who don't know, Sanshou is a form of Chinese "Shootfighting". Kung fu style kicking and punching coupled with some groundfighting. As for how Cung would do in UFC, that all depends on what's in the script. Just a new form of WWF. As for hanging with Frank on the ground, the entire Gracie family, easily a few THOUSAND BBJ practitioners, and Frank's own brother Ken. Ken wipes mats with Frank fairly often. Don't confuse Frank Shamrock being the biggest "name" in MMA with being the biggest talent. And don't confuse "wrestling" with MA.

Royce (Hoyce? all the Gracie's have odd names.) The first time Frank fought him. Don't get me wrong, Frank is a good fighter, but he's not invincible.

False, outside of his Pancrase fights Frank has lost one fight to john Lober who he destroyed in their rematch...Frank went undefeated as the UFC middle weight champion.

Ken Shamrock is the the one who lost to Royce at UFC 1.

My mistake, perhaps I should devote more time to WWF and less time to legitimate martial arts so I don't forget which Shamrock is which. My apologies. My point remains however, Cung Le's performance in UFC depends on what's in the script.

Look fact of the matter is the BJJ guys are no longer the Champs of UFC, MAA guys are. Cung Le is an amazing fighter and I would like to see him fight in UFC.
