I take that back. Reading the OP again there is clearly a vendetta. |
That's pretty much what I thought. He also posted in a thread I started in the Chinese Martial Arts section. _________________ Shodan - Shaolin Kempo

The post in the other thread is the one that made me look back at this one. _________________ Martial arts training is 30% classroom training, 70% solo training.

When I was a kid I went to a Fred villari's studio of self defense " mc dojo" and had a great teacher named Tom Wilson,, he taught me a lot, I just wish I could remember the katas, and Tom if your out there I apologize for being a pain in the rear,, and thanks a lot for all the training! If he were still in the area I would have went back to him, |

I cant believe there are people who can actually believe the founder of the mc dojo franchise is a legit 12th degree. i studied at a fred villari school and found it to be a joke. the self defense techs were useless and the forms had nothing to do with shoalin. i have trained in shoalin kung fu and the forms were no where near the same. i have been involved in martial arts arts for over 30 years and have earned 2 black belts in two systems and various colored belts in some others. _________________ ME |

Maybe my teacher was the problem and not the art, either way I got a bad taste from my time there. _________________ ME |

I hope the USSD vidoes aren't representative of the whole art, because they weren't that great. _________________ ME |

My other problem was the "secret club" aspect of the seminars and tournaments. _________________ No limits as my limit. |

I too studied at the Villari school while in high school, and agree that the Villari schools are a joke, and nothing but a money machine for Fred Villari! Of course, after training in boxing, kick boxing and muai thai I found that "most" traditional "styles" are ineffective in actual "full contact" combat anyway... to experience "actual combat" you really have to be willing to "get into the ring"! |

From the wiki page it sounds like 5th was awarded to him and he holds 12th dan in his own system.
I'm unsure of the motivation behind the OP. I think there are some organizational politics here, but maybe I'm misreading. Maybe shoalinninja could explain in more detail. |
I'm sorry, but no matter 5th dan or 12th dan traditional martial "arts" are just ineffective in "actual" full contact combat! Good exercise though.......... |
