If you are choked out that means you go to sleep. Ken did not go to sleep if you read his book or saw the fight. The fighters may have been something at one time but I thought Kevin Rosier was going to have a heart attack.

do you think he tapped out for fun? what is your point?

He tapped out becuase he was caught in a choke he could not get out off and would have passed out.

end of story..i dont know what your trying to get at. your actiting like Shamrock just decided he didint want to win or something.

This is for the shotokanwarrior...

BRAWL
by:Erich Krauss & Bret Aita, {page 46-47}

"I was sitting back for a heel hook, and actually had the heel hook. He wrapped his gi around my arm, so when I sat back, it basically pulled him on top of me. Then I couldn't get my arm out of the gi to apply the heel hook and get my leg over. So I tried to turn on my side, and when I did he wrapped his gi and his hand around my throat...
Then all of a sudden I felt this gi tighten around my neck"
Shamrock then tapped out.

Hoyce was great, but what happened to them? What are they doing know? Seems like people were able to adapt to them pretty quickly.

People "adapt" to them becuase 99% of todays fighters Study BJJ to some extent.

It is basically a foundation you must have if you want to be succesful.

Royces Last fight was In Japan against Kazushi Sakuraba, one of the most succesful and respected fighters in Japan.

Royce fought him for 90 minutes before he had to throw in the towel becuase his leg was broken.

Renzo Gracie, Rodrigo Gracie, Ryan Gracie and a few others are still around and doin pretty well against todays fighters.

It's always easier to defend against a submission than apply it successfully.
Also, most of the Gracie's aren't great athletes (which makes their victories more impressive), so when you get guys who learn how to counter the BJJ game (which is easier when you're only wearing fight shorts), and who are Olympic level wrestlers i.e. incredible athletes, then it's going to be hard for anybody to overcome them.

true gracie is a great fighter, on the ground is he amazing, YET i would like to see him fight oleg taktarav, the russian bear, that man is a beast, i haven't paid close to the ufc's over theyears since they got rather off target with weight classes and rules, i liked the old day fights in the ufcs, so if there was a fight between oleg and royce, forgive me yet please give me the details, i also don't recall the keith hackney fight with him either, can some one tell me what happened there?

Renzo Gracie Ko'd Oleg in an event called MARS. Oleg was in Renzo's guard where Renzo did a heel kick right under Oleg's jaw knocking him out.

Keith Hackney put up a good fight standing against Royce before Royce armbarred him from guard.

aaaaaa poor oleg, that man is one of the toughest in the world, i would bet that if he didn't get ko'd then he would fight until all his bones are broken and dead, that man never gives up and has the greatest calm of any fighter that i have ever seen. I would like to see both of those fights, maybe when i get back to the states i can look them up, thanks for the heads up johnnys
