I believe you might be referring to some of the metalic colors in the macho warrior line.
Also take a look at a copy of Black Belt magazine. Look through the ads. Many companies now make sparring gear in gold and silver. |

yes; metalic sparring equipment sounds like an increase in injuries....i have to agree with SAI, perhaps it's the colors you want.......

i only mention injuries due to the fact that i would hate to kick a mask like the one's used by baseball catchers or have some one block my kick with an iron forearm brace on........or is that why you want it?(lol).........
oh and congrat on that shiny new green belt, lovely.

Rush Sweetie,
If i had that type of mask on, I wouldnt be able to see that attack comeing...lol. I kinda like TKD's idea of it being a turn on...would distract u...hehehe |

My first mask was a closed chin mask (all of our kids used to have to wear the closed chin ones). With my goggles I was always steamed up (the lenses) and could not see a thing. I got another more open helmet and was much happier.
The other thing with the closed chin helmet was it did restrict visibility even before my lenses fogged up.
Actually I think the color of sparring gear does make a difference. In some ways it is nice to express individuality. But, I think my white handpads are harder to pick up against my white gi. |

My school does sell equipment and bags, of course. Like u said it was an individual preferance.
I do like your point on the white hand pads tho, had never thought of that. I might try it. Do you also wear white kicks? |

Yes Dreamer I do wear white footpads too. More as a matter of matching the rest of my gear though. |
