-: you said to go with your instincts. well saying that i knew nothing about ninjutsu and wing chun(tho i do know a bit about each art but not much.. i havent tried either one out), and I had a good "feeling" towards wing chun, and a "bad" feeling towards ninjutsu(not the school, but the art).. should I go with my instincts?

Well I went down to the shotokan club yesterday and talked to the sensei about if I could have a feel of shotokan. I studied with him for 2 hours along with the other students. Shotokan and wado ryu are quite similar, but at the end of the day I preferd the feel of wadu ryu, that I would feel more comfortable fighting in that style with both strikes and locks, rather than relying more on strengh.

And he also agreed with me that certain body types are suited to different martial arts, thats why there can't be a best martial art!

In my mind it is not the body, it is the mind that choses the martial art. More agreeably however with the hard restricive martial arts it does require you to be of good fittness. But I know people, tall and short, big and small builds that study the same art, shotokan in this case. Some are better at Kicking some at striking.

Eye of the tiger, stick to Wado, as they are both bases on Okinawan styles, Wado is a little younger at martal arts go. Created by one of Gichin Funakoshi Sensei's students, who i think also studied Jujutsu.

It combines shotokan and Ju Jutsu.

Definitely. You can't really explain that gut instinct, but it's usually reliable. Maybe it was something about the instructor, the attitude of the school, or the skill generally displayed. Either way, if Wing Chun feels right, go with it.

Actyally my doubts are creeping up on me. Through following my fighting instincts I would rather use hard techniques in a fight.

I said I liked the feel of Wado Ryu only because at the shotokan club it did get a bit boring doing the same routine of block, kick, punch, but at the end of the day I think I am more of an agressive fighter than one to react in harmony.

Right I think I'm definately going to do shotokan. Can anyone give some advice for when I enter the class, maybe if I could learn some basic techniques.
