What do you guy think about martial art athletes taking steriods to give them that competative edge?
I know for a fact that there are numerous competative fighters out there "juicing" up to give them the edge.
There are also suppliments that are banned by the IOC like Androstenedione (the substance that help MLB player Mark Maguire set a home run record), that can be bought at your local drug or health food store. Sales on "andro" have gone up almost 300% since the baseball record.
Many amatuer martial arts sports follow the IOC guidelines, but are they enforced? |

as far as i'm concerned steroids is one step below heroin usage...whats next, meds to make you disappear/invisible...i don't know, invisible might be cool.

IMO...I feel this should go in "Health & Fitness"...and totally in agreement with iamrushman. NOT HEALTHY!!!!
You're basically cheating ... and dying a slow death in the process!

| a good way to an early grave..even if its in the local health store does not mean its safe..you have to do alot of research on anything you put into your body,,especialy if your taking any meds you could have dangerous interactions...steroids are not only unnatual and illegal but can cuase many complications including a tko by the grim reaper..stay far away from that ..besides that again do your homework on whats out there as far as supplements go..you will also find that a lot of products do absolutely nothing.. |

| Steroids are totally stupid, not only is it cheating, but they are unnatural, illegal, and unsafe. The side effects are awful, especially with Anabolic steroids... people that use them should definitely be educated |

I believe that steroids have no place in sports - or anywhere else for that matter. I was totally disgusted that Mark MacGuire - someone who is a "role model" for kids - was given the world record because in my opinion he cheated. As far as I'm concerned he's a fake and a cheat  If you can't play fair, then don't play at all.

If a person wants to use steroids and/or supplements to increase their performance, more power to them! They'll pay the price in the end with their health. The immediate happiness can be achieved by winning using these methods, but in the end, that happiness will become grief and despair. I prefer not to do these things and maintain happiness throughout my entire life.
