yeah i reckon he thinks if i call it shotokan in army people well think it different and go to that instead.

so, anyway know anything about taishindo karate ?

Nope, the shotokan website gives you all the info you'll need. For Taisindo just type it into a search engine like http://www.yahoo.com or even better try out both the clubs at the same time and after a few weeks decide which one you like best and stick with that one.

When I was in the British Army we were not taught any specific style of self-defence - it was just self-defense, with a bit of an emphasis on regular old boxing when I was in! They also throw in a few evil ways of killing people with bayonets, neck-breaks, control of prisoners using pressure on the digital nerves, etc, etc.

All jolly good fun!
