My son is 6'1 and @ 140 lbs. I need to replace his gi (at least his pants) and am having a very difficult time. His last gi was KI heavyweight, but that was a hand-me down from me when he was smaller. I had him try on a Karate Depot elite size 5 and you could literally fit a whole extra person in with him. I can't see any amount of washing that will shrink the waist down enough without also shrinking the length. Does anyone have experience with any gi made for a tall, thin person?

I assume he wears cross over uniforms, rather than the pull over v-neck uniforms. I would try try Kwon brand uniforms. They might be able to help you. They're made in a "European fit." (ie. sized for non-Asian folks)

Here's their site: http://www.kwon.com/kwonusa/shop_index.asp

Hope that helps.

Most of our uniforms tend to run on the wide side. I think the only thing we carry that runs narrow is the Tokaido Ultimate. They're pretty pricey though.

If you'd like another KI uniform, although I don't remember them as being particularly narrow, KI's website is http://www.kiintl.com/ or, in your state, NY, Discount MA carries them. http://www.discountmas.com/kikaun.html
