MA Training

TKD Class: 6:30 - 7:30 pm. Black Belt Class. I taught this class; it was a one-on-one class with one of the recommended black belts. We did Do-Kang 1 three times, then I had him review forms: Choong Moo, Won Hyo, Joong Gun, Toi Gye, and Do San. Then I had him do all colored belt one-steps, and to finish class, we worked on some self-defense applications using the chamber and execution parts of the knife hand strike.

Had a stretching session at home.

Strength Training

Deadlifts: 135x5, 165x5, 195x3, 210x1, 230x5.
Pin Press (forehead level): 45x5, 65x5, 85x3, 115x1, 135x3, 135x3, 135x3.

Lost my balance going back down on one of the deadlift work set reps. Frustrating. I feel like I'm not gaining anything.

Well, training is done for a few weeks. I tested positive for the Covid.

Thanks, Wamp. All in all, I've been sicker than this before. A year ago, I'd have gone to work and not batted an eye.

Great to hear you not too bad off. That seems to be the case with many folks I know. But the media has its way of only reporting the bad cases.

That sucks. Hope you don't have too bad a time with it. Quite a few people I know have come down with it during our second wave here.

Thanks, Danielle. It's really draining for me, especially having to miss work.

I'm about 4 days in I think now. I've been feeling pretty tired and drained, and I haven't been sleeping well. But the fever hasn't persisted, and I don't have a horrible cough. I've felt much worse in the past being sick, I know that. I do think if I tried to get active, I'd really start feeling it.

Sucks but at least you seem to got off easy. I know a fair few people who have gotten it and its affected them all different. Several really fit people I know have been hit hard and still have long-Covid symptoms months later.

Finally, back to class, post-covid.

2/3/2021

TKD Class: 6:30 - 7:30 pm. T-shirt class. Did some bag work, comprising mostly of basic kicks (front and back leg), spin kicks, and hand techniques. Toward the end of the class, the CI wanted to work on something he referred to as Ho Sin Sul sparring, which was a very controlled, randomized flow drill, I guess, working to locks or finishes. It's something we are going to work on and try to refine moving forward, to work into our black belt classes.

2/4/2021

TKD Testing: 6:00 - 7:30. We had 5 testing, one for recommended black belt rank, and one testing for 1st degree rank. Overall, there were some things that I was a little disappointed with this testing. I don't want to use Covid and the like as an excuse, but it has affected some of the student's attendance, which was apparent.
