What are the different uses for the two? Are there more things you can do with Speedchucks?

Are Speedchucks more dangerous than regular nunchuks?

Here's an example of "Speedchucks":
http://www.smartcart.com/selfdefence/cgi/display.cgi?item_num=1001RAT

Basically, you can get 2,500 Revolutions Per Minute out of them.

As for the Rattan Cane, isn't that the same material they use to cane people's * in Singapore?

Speed chucks are more of an hollywood invention . Traditional nunchukas are wood with a cord holding them together . people started adding chains and making them out of metal later on . However I am a traditional martial artist so thsi is why I favor the wooden nunchuka . everyone has to choose shich path they wish to follow .

Basically in the hands of a person who has trained long and hard in the handling of nunchaku there is no difference in the amount of speed which can be generated with chains or cord.

Somehow though in some circles the chains are percieved as "more macho" or some such nonsense. No offense meant to anyone who loves their chained nunchaku's.

The danger to a person being hit with a swing from a nunchaku depends on the material they are made of. The handles not the attachment. Even foam padded ones can smart when you get going fast enough.

Yes swat someone with a pair of aluminum nunchaku in the proper manner they can be lethal. For that matter some techniques done with a pair of foam ones can be lethal.
