i didn't know about the kylie and did research now, thanks.
but from what i now read, these were, along with other weapons, types of traditional boomerangs, so even if we know boomerangs as toy today, they're not just invented as a toy based on kylies. |

The best self defense weapon I've learned this far is the Staff, but the funnest one to manipulate in Kata is the Sai. I won't get to learn sword until next year. |

I can't believe that I missed this thread! I love weapons! Right now my favorite is split between kama and eku. I have always really love kama, and I think that their use requires subtlety and grace. I just like the eku in general though. Something about using an oar to fight is just something that gets to me on a deep level. _________________ Martial arts training is 30% classroom training, 70% solo training.

Mixed weapon as in two man forms with different weapons? If so, yes, I have an Aikido Jo v. Bokken form. _________________ Van |

in one man forms, i don't, but i'm no master of any weapon arts, just did cross training. kata is not important, you can learn to handle either way. and if you like, create your own kata. i'm curious too how this would look.
for example one hand tonfa, the other hand sai, these two have a similar handling so it could make sense. |

my first weapons to learn were the Eskrima stick and the Nunchaku. then came Bo and dabbling in the Oar. now I'm adding back onto my Bo basics and picking up the Spear and
Broadsword
out of all of those, my favourites are the Spear and Bo.
for practical purposes, my go to is a pocketknife _________________ Shaolin Kempo, 1st Dan (earned 3 July 2018 in China)
