I enjoy watching some of the elders in my school start cross-training, and I wish to do the same. Even if some people are the highest ranked tae kwon do practitioner in the class, they are humbled to start a new art, and since they know as much or only a little more than the other beginners, a white belt is what they should start with. Also, it's good to start low in rank so that you have motivation to continue and move up in rank.
