Very interesting. As a person who's practiced WTF TKD for nearly a decade, I'm surprised I didn't know about old Koryo. My instructor was really big on integrating the old forms too. We did all of the old PreITF/WTF forms as part of our color belt curriculum.
I just watched a few demo clips of old Koryo. Please share any additional info you get on this subject. I'm intrigued and may go out of my way to learn it just for my own knowledge sake. _________________ "The key to immortality is first living a life worth remembering." |

From what I've seen, there is a DVD that can be bought to accompany that book, which would have the form on it. That book has the form in it, too, if you are interested in picking it up. You might be able to find a clip on youtube, as well. _________________ www.haysgym.com

Read it! It has a good history of TKD that was easy to follow (and I learned a few new things!) and a general explanation of some comon techniques. The explanation and the photos of the two forms was clear and I have been enjoying practicing the "new" old koryo.
I am very interested in the "heirloom" forms and have always taught a few of them in order to preserve their history. I may consider includung this one too!

I think its a good idea, if you do WTF forms, to include it. The book provides pretty easy to follow instructions for learning it. There is also a companion DVD you can get that inlcudes some applications for the forms, too.
I especially enjoyed the history of the Kwans in the beginning of the book. That was worth the price, to me. _________________ www.haysgym.com
