Ahahah.
Angus is a god. I could start going into the 'don't get into trouble' type philosophising, but I won't because, quite frankly, Angus makes this board fantastic, haha. Almost every week we have some new crazy situation he's got himself into, it makes for great reading
That is not to say I, uh, condone any of this. [cough] |

You know, DarkMonkey, you're right... I AM A GOD!!!
The thing is about this challenge that i don't have a new dojo of my own, and there really aren't any neutral places to go to. This dude just asked me to come back to the dojo (which i did actually train at at one stage) and prove my theories. Anyway, i'm going down there in a couple of hours to see what the go is. Hopefully i should come back with a conclusion to this chapter.
Haha, i hope i don't get smacked up, cos i have to go to work afterwards.

SO ANGRY!!
After all the crap i went thru it ended up being a load of ****... I went there expecting to duke it out with this dude and then the sensei started to tell me all the rules i had to abide by... rules? RULES!!?!???!?!? Sonofa*****!!!!
I calmly looked at the sensei, then the dude i was gonna fight, and calmly said "well then gentlemen, i bid you fairwell". I didn't even explain to them why i was leaving.
What an anti-climax! I wanted to come back and tell a story of either glorious victory or bitter defeat. I didn't wanna write some broing crap like a no-fight.
They wanted no full-contact to the head/groin/knees... No grappling... It was crap. How can i prove my theories when they trim my entire fighting style?
Sorry guys. I'm thoroughly annoyed!
Angus

Sounds like the sensei had a hellava lot more sense than the guy who challenged you. He knew you would seriously injure his guy if he allowed you all that freedom.
I'm not a violent person, and I hopefully won't see as much action as you've seen in the past few weeks for another few years. However, I can't stand someone making a challenge, and then not even allowing grappling.
They want no groin shots--wear a cup.
They want no head shots--wear sparring gear.
They want no knee shots--o.k. that could be crippling, but still...they made the challenge.
But no grappling!!!???? Why don't you just sit down a play a game of tiddly winks to settle it?

Bah, you should have calmly explained the irony in what the Sensei was saying and then walked out, now they'll not understand at all Hrumph. I wanted an exciting climax too. BOOOO. |

It was not right for the Sensei to be involved. The challenge was made to the student, not the teacher. Remind him of that.

I don't agree. If the combat was to take place in his school, the sensei is responsible (legally anyway).
But since we're some of the best armchair quarterbacks there are......you probably should have stated your point before leaving. |

I knew if i started explaining stuff then i would have lost my cool (i'm not a very patient person when it comes to fighting) and ended up yelling and screaming and essentially making myself look pretty damn bad. I just came to the conclusion that i don't care what they think anymore, and i went off to work (i was 2 hours early but i needed to vent my anger my packing and unpacking crates).
For all those "Adventures of Angus" fans out there (of whom i know only darkmonkey) i am sorry. I could have written how i decimated the dude but since it didn't really happen then i wouldn't be able to sleep properly knowing i was a fake.
I could have lived without no full-contact to the head and groin and knees i guess, but the point where he said no grappling just * me right off... Gah!
