i have the problem of bottling up my anger and putting it away somewhere. and then sometimes something * me off and i just snap and a violent outburst comes out (its not like i go around hitting people) but i become an * and i just start cursing and telling people what i really feel about them. this has happend in the dojo one time. i snapped one time cuz i just couldnt hit my partner cuz he is so tall and i ended up paying for it with a black eye |

i personally try to combat and control my anger in confrontations so that my techniques can flow without restriction.

anger is not something that cannot be contolled..it may have different levels of intensity but never controlled...its like a fire you may believe you can contain or channel it only to have it rush out without warning..anger when out of control leads to poor judgement...and thats when we get into problems....you may feel hey wait you guys dont understand me..ive got mine under controll..your playing with fire my friend..and one day it will burn you...you should learn to diminish your anger instead as for when a loved one maybe hurt that is more of a fear reaction than anger anger works hand in hand with fear..and there is nothing wrong with fear..admiting that you have fear is one of the most hardest things one can do especially when youre so concerened as being precieved as macho(and believe me i know im a latino)but this channeling of fear would be much more effective than anger...ask a cop what does he feel keeps him on his toes when going to a call where violence is occurring he will tell you fear... than ask him what will get him killed.... anger |

I disagree. A person that cannot control their emotions is not truly in power of themselves. Why is a person angry? It's because they choose to be. How you react to a situatoin is all a product of your own interpretation. If you can control your own thoughts and emotions, you are truly a master of yourself. If you are angry because of what a person says or does, then you are no longer in control, that other person is and they have power over you. Don't give in and let another person control you, you decide yourself when you want to be angry and when you don't.

So is pain. Pain is a very important gift. You need it to live. Anger is said to be a energy.
I don't like pain because pain shows me that what i am doing is wrong (touching a hot pan) and I don't like to do things worng haha. |

i am going to have to disagree with you too taezee
everyone can control their anger. say if your sensei, your boss, a cop or a really big guy who could probobly kick your * got you mad 9 times outta 10 you would control your anger
now when you let your anger out and get into a big out burst the only reason why you did that is cuz you believed you could get away with a temper tantrum
thats what i believe personally |
