In ju jitsu does anyone else do ground wrestling,is that what randori is in judo, because ive read alot sayin ju jitsu dusn't train with resisting opponents but in the class i attend we do wrestle but we also learn the more 'dangerous' techniques (throws locks dislocatins etc). _________________ I'd quote bruce lee but to me he's just another person who got lucky |

japanese jujutsu, correct? whether or not you randori in jujutsu will vary from school to school, I'd imagine. as for randori, that's not just groundwork - it's stand up too - basically, it's free sparring. |

Well the three styles of jujitsu taught in our area all do some sort of grappling. They do stand up grappling and on the ground as well. I think when judo was first invented, jujitsuka didn't do randori, but they've had a lot of time to rethink their ways and adapt. _________________ The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.

Judo is jiu jitsu that has it's focus on throwing and was changed for sport purpose. Take a look at the mpeg's on www.judoinfo.com I think you will see a lot of jiu jitsu. |
