I was just wondering how effective traditional juijutsu is in street fighting. Does it have strikes such as punches, kicks, knees or elbows? Does it have pressure points, chokes or armbars? How good would a juijutsu fighter be able to do against a wing chun or hung gar student in an all out fight?

Answers to any of these questions would be very much appriciated.

they would stand a good chance of winning the fight,as it is the "base" martial art as judo, karate, aikido and some other martial arts have bacically broken of ov ju jitsu so afcourse it involves strikes and arm bars it also involves throws!!
hope this helped

Yes, there are strikes. Yes, there are pressure points, chokes, and armbars. However, there are a lot of different styles of Jujutsu with some being more effective than others, or having a different emphasis. As for how it stacks up against a Wing Chun or Hung Gar student, that all depends on how well the Jujutsu-ka is able to adapt to what's being thrown at him. Personally, I'd say the Jujutsu-ka would have the upper hand.

I teach Jujutsu, and have probly fought over thirty times on the street.first,a person has to have the mantality to win, secondly, jujutsu has punches and kicks like karate, throws from judo, and their grappling skills.in my own opinion,is the most effective system for someone that trains for real self defense situations.ive studied martial arts for 12yrs and unfortunately have had the opportunity to use my skills in situations to protect myself.it works, trust me.
