Basically, your pal is probably overdoing it a bit! There is a balance to be achieved between overloading the muscles in a way that they will heal bigger/better/stronger and overloading them so that you are just repairing with scar tissue - no use to man nor beast in terms of strength or particularly flexibility.

So no, you're definitely not talking "danglies" to him!
