You're right, it was very stupid, but I think what Thuggish meant is that it showed how useful it can be. Hopefully applied in a more needful way!

Hm, just to comment twice in a row!! (I should really try reading the whole thread before I reply.

Anyway, good point, Tibby. It sucks beyond belief, but that's life.

He may be "lucky", but he's probably to broke to continue to pay for his training. Even for a first time offender the legal fees must have been astronomical. I'd call that a phyrric victory at best.

Tibby,

Remind me not to come to your neck of the woods. That's certainly not a great visual on police officers! I can say that doesn't describe most of the officers around here. Granted, not all are great, but they're pretty fit professionals. Most have at least some college. You can't get promoted too far in the KCPD without at a CJ degree. Plus, the head of the PD set up physical standards very similar to what the military does as far as annual physical fitness tests. And, no, I'm not a police officer. Just feel many of them get a crappy rep. Most don't get paid squat and everybody hates them...until you need them, then they're your best friend.

Man, my town's cops are a joke. You wouldn't beleive the crap we get away with here! The cops in this town are rednecks. Picture the fat lazy steriotypes you see on TV. If htey ever showed up on the TV show Cops, they would be the shirtless guy smoking a joint saying "hey man, she hit me first"!

two of my uncles are cops and i've been around their friends and cops do tend to get a big head and push their authority beyond what it actually is

tho he should've had more patients and waited to see if they were going to get more physical; then beat them down

although god help him when he gets to his dojo
