I going to a sem this Sunday, we are studying the two above kata with bunkai. Does anyone know how many verison of each exist? (I'm learning the Matsubayashi ryu verisons)

I know the matsubayashi version of ananku and the shotokan version of wankan.

I know the Matsubayshi versions of both. I believe at least 3 different versions exist....but I only know the Matsu version

Ananku is a nice short kata and we will be studying other Okinawan kata...

I like the slide steps in Ananku - the way they help you learn to be a bit more evasive in your maneuvers. And I like the way it emphasizes the side block. Modify that side block a bit and scoop catch a kick and your sparring partner sits down in a hurry.
