Hi
I believe the 3 section staff is called the San-Setsu-Kon. I could be wrong though.

San Setsu Kon is the name for the 3 section style of Nunchaku. ("San" means "3" and "Setsu" means "Joint" if I remember correctly)
It is different from the 3 sectional staff used in Chinese Styles.

"Kon" is another word for staff, so "San-setsu-kon" literally means 3-jointed-staff.
The idea behind the 3 section staff was that if one of the parts was cut off, the other section could be used as a normal nunchaku
I dont know much about the chinese version, but I do know about the japanese and okinawan type.
I've seen both the chinese and japanese versions used, and nowadays they both look the same (well, the ones I saw were )

Hey GoldDragon
Sure, as long as you get me a pair of metal kama and a pair of telescopic nunchaku at the same time.

I have 2 favorite weapons.
I like the bo maybe because it is the first weapon I worked with and gained skill with.
:up:And I really like the Sai
:idea:My Karate style is Shotokan and when the sai are moving well in my hands flipping in and out with speed and accuracy they sort of feel like the claws of the tiger.
