For those active grapplers out there....
What %age of your time do you spend in & out of a Gi when you train / spar your grappling?

I would have to say 100% in-gi because I don't practice at home because I don't have anyone to practice with.

I would say 95% in gi.....that's all I actually train in, but my brother is a wrestler, I like to roll with him for fun - I'd like to be comfy in gi before I start tarining no gi. |

Around 98% or so, I don't do the UFC training yet.. if I did, that'd make it about 1/4 no gi, 3/4 gi..

We do a small bit of grappeling in my karate class. Only because I have cross trained some. We always use the gi. My thinking is if you are attacked outside a guy will most likely have a shirt, coat, jacket or some sort of clothes on. |

I spend 99.9% time in gi...I say that because every now and then we have street clothes days where we do all self-defense in normal clothing.
We don't do much grappling, my buddies and I wrestle sometimes after class for fun. I know they think they're hugging me because they're all madly in love with me, but it's good practice in fighting.
No seriously, I'm training...
last summer I was so good people were placing bets on me. I had some of the fastest tap-outs in my class
