I'm going to buy me some gear for my muay thai training, but I don't know what companies make good equipment. I'd just like to know what brands you guys recommend. I want something affordable and reliable. I'm thinking of going with TKO's stuff since I like their style (I guess the black and white colors catch my eye ) but I'm not sure. I need gloves, a mouthpiece, and shin guards for now. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. |

Well there's Fairtex and Aries brand equipment. I've also heard of VUT. All 3 deal/sell Muay Thai equipment. As far as price it'll depend on your budget. You can also check sites like Sakura Martial Arts Supply, Academy of Karate Martial Arts Supply, or any other online MA supply store for the same or similar equipment for perhaps lesser cost. Check EBay for the same equipment and maybe get a deal. Oh and buy leather versus vinyl, it'll last you longer. Hope this is of some help!! |

You might want to try Century.
I'm not sure if it's a good brand or not but that's where I get all my stuff and I like it. |

Thaismai gloves rock, like they were made for your hand only. I wouls also recommend getting a steel cup. Shin pads....not much difference in any of them.
Gloves are the most important. Talk to people that have the ones you're thinking of getting, ask if they are ripped inside or if they hold their form. |

Well if at your gym they sell them you should get them their.
If not try not to get the cheap gloves or shin guards they arent that great
