Hey man, i'm a submission fighter and one of da styles i do is Sambo. Sambo is known for its leg locks, not that i'm real good at them er anytin. I've seen many bjj guys and such, do achilles locks, and i dun think i've ever seen one do it right.
First-make sure you use both hands
Second-make sure u apply pressure to the achilles tendon and not higher up, like on the calf, it may still werk but not as effevtive by far
third-make sure u roll on the side that isn't trapping the ankle and try to be on top of his other leg
fourth-now pull upwards with ur arms, squeeze ur legs together and arch ur back.
das it i guess
hope i helped

you shouldn't worry about learning those techniques yet until you have got the basics down, I am almost a blue belt in bjj and im just learning knee bars now,

well you should take caution while practicing leg locks, especially knee bars, they are great to use on the street, very fast and i don't care if I sparain the guys knee , I have had to do it b4you shouldn't worry about learning those techniques yet until you have got the basics down, I am almost a blue belt in bjj and im just learning knee bars now,
