That sounds like a good idea Lori. I have to work on my spinning kicks a little more before i can be totally confident with them. I've used spinning heel to good effect once or twice but that was only out of desperation.

Two counters are just stepping into the kick so it doesn't hit you. The third is stepping in, grabbing the support leg, and sweeping them on their face with any followup you want.

Oooooooh yes!! That's a good one also! I can see that being devastating, particularly if u back up the ridge hand with perhaps an upper-cut or a grab-knee...
Yes, simple but deadly...

My favorite move: right cresent to the face. It will make them look away or et knocked out so that they won't even see the left, side thrust kick to the stomach coming!

I dont really have one of those; I tend to reflect my opponents style to throw them off and use appropriate moves. But I do have a few preffred street fighting moves...
When i am a slight distance away, take a few quick steps forward towards opponent and jump with knee up (much like you are about to do a simple flying front kick) Carefull not to jump too high, i've had people run into me and send me flying...Anyways they instinctively expect a high kick and lift their hands to gaurd the upper body.
Wait unusually long ( so that youre dropping down now) and excecute a side kick whilst snapping youre hips to the persons Knees/Shins....
It's very usefull because it is a very unusual feint, you have an extremely powerfull side kick because of the aerial momentum and hip action....and it kills like a biyatch.
When closer up, opponent excecutes straight or hook punch/ fake...Get outside the leading arm anyway you like...and have youre e.g. (if left handed punch) pull their arm towards you with youre left hand, and with youre right apply downwards force or their turned elbow (tai chi move) this foces them to bend down or get closer to the floor and you somehow...quickly move youre right plam to their neck applying intense pressure and sweep their front left leg youre back right leg - which sends them crashing to the floor...
^^ It's actually much simpler then it reads.
I also like this one for a straight / hook punch...let's say it was right handed... duck the punch or stop it anyway you like, using youre right hand claw it onto their collar bone, go around them, and bring youre left arm over their neck and grab your own right hand, thus locking their neck. Using youre foot apply pressure to the back of the knee..and push their back forward, hence they fall to the floor whilst in a headlock...if you really want you could just snap their neck...It's a ninjitsu move. |
