i prefer learning ground attacks and defense more than standing...the only standing attacks i even work on are take downs lol. the reason being, most people can stand up and fight, but if a skilled (or even semi-skilled) grappler takes you down and you don't know how to grapple you're a fish out of water.

learn ground stuff its good for you and you'll defreat your opponent with ease, but don't forget to practice your elbows . those work well on the ground

i preffer the ground, i feel more confortable there and think it's more secure
