I wonder if there are any statistics that can tell if Jiu-Jitsu membership went up after the movie, The Matrix was released.

Many young people join martial arts for stupid reasons like; I saw it on Tv! or I saw it on a video game!

But if they join the martial arts for "stupid reasons" and then reap many benifits, is that not a positive thing? The more people who's lives are improved by martial arts, the better.

It depends on the person. If the person is serious and dedicated they will continue. On the other hand if they joined because of a video game and take it lightly they wont last long.

I'm serious and dedicated now, its just I wasn't really aware of the martial arts until I saw it in films and videogames. Of course, I am far more determined about the martial arts now
