[b]Hi

I am interested in buying sparring gear to use during practice and tournaments. I was wondering which would be better, foam or vinyl? I want something that would last a long time and had good protective padding. Any suggestions? Please let me know asap. If you like u can email me also.

I have sparred foam, I liked the padding at first, but they split, fell apart after a few months of use. (usually 3 times a week by adult size practitioners)

If you can afford it, get leather.

I'd prefer vinyl over foam, but as AngelaG said, if you can afford it then go for leather. It'll last you MUCH longer than either vinyl or foam.

I used both, and I think I prefer the vinyl

I'm going to tell you some of the best shin insteps are the fairtex pro style

they are a little spending but they are built to last and your goint to have ultimate protection. Go with the pro style not the standard due to the bulk.
if you can get away with regular kickboxing/boxing gloves fairtex is great but if you need to go with a more traditional style go Macho has some pretty good gear. But for intense training fairtex or even twins
