I am setting up my basement to work out in and I want to get a few of the big mirrors you see in most martial arts schools. Does anyone know of a web site that sells these or a store in the baltimore area? Thanks

check with construction companies, and look in the classified adds in your newpapers.

I dont know how often you will find overstock material or mirrors people are getting rid of.

Since its your basement i assume you wont need a custom made job to fit exact proportions, and im sure you can find something large this way

\good luck

Thanks for the help. I found one place on line but they wanted between $300-$600. Forget that.

Any glass company should carry, or be able to order mirrors. if cost is a factor (appears to be) then get the thinnest mirrors they have. If you have the company install them, they will be liable to replace them if they get broken.

Assuming normal wear and tear, flaws, or improper installation. I don't think it covers accidental collision with the skull or rump.

i have a friend who's an irish dancer, and she also needed mirrors in her basement so she could practice (she's wicked good, btw). so instead of getting a few large mirrors, she got several smaller ones. they aren't the nicest things around so they didn't cost that much, and they were much easier to obtain and move around. something to consider?

Sorry WW, but you misunderstood what I was trying to say. To clarify, if you get the thinnest (and cheapest) mirrors they have, and have the glass company install them (thinnest means easiest to break when installing), then they are liable to replace them if they break during the instalation.
