I am thinking of starting weapons training and I was wondering what is the best weapon to start with. It needs to have power but it must require a certain amount of skill to use.
Does anyone have any idea's?????

I agree, start with the Bo(staff). It is a weapon that is easy to learn yet can have many intricate maipulations to it. |

Start with the bo because it is the most basic and most practical. Everyone can find a stick to pick up. If done properly the bo can be very flashy.
Good luck,
Pete

Very true about the flashiness. It's surprising how simple moves can look *really* impressive to someone who's watching.

Yeah bong (Bo, staff, whatever you want to call it) is a good place to start. It's where we usually start in my school. Lot less painful than nunchuku when first starting out! |

I dunno about that. I've clocked myself pretty hard in the arms and head with a bong before. Not fun.

I recommend to begin the art of Kali which begin with one stick about 2-3 feets long then with two stick, then with one stick and one knive, then with whatever you want to express your.
Try to escape an attack from a stick, it's practically impossible.
