I have used my martial skills on several occassions. I was working at a night club as a bouncer and I asked a patron to leave he said he wasn't going to in the most unplesant fashion imagineable. I used the deep breathing from sanchin kata to remain calm and escorted the gentleman from the building without incident. I don't think that is the type of story that you are looking but it is the best example of me using karate I can think of. If you wanted combat stories that is something else alltogether and I don't refer to it as karate. _________________ Kisshu fushin oni te hotoke kokoro |

Or using your moves on somone. |
Not used Karate, but there was this drunk girl at a party I went to last week, who was playing up a bit n grabbed my friends shirt as we were going downstairs, so I just used a mild wristlock on her which made her let go. I was quite pleased with that actually because I can say I finally put my skills to some use
But I reckon if a proper fight situation came about I probably wouldn't have the balls n just run off. |

Nice one pepparoo, well I've use my karate in fight situations sometimes three and a half months ago I've been attack and grabbed by a huge man and I done karate punch for several times and done a palm sttrike to his nose and got away.
I did not seen the result of it but his nose probably is really sore. _________________ A karate punch it is like a dasvasted stick blow. Instead, a blow of Kung Was is comparable to a lash with a chain that has attacked, allaltra extremity one ball of ferro |

This summer someone tried to mug me after the local fireworks. I managed to grab his arm and pull him in another direction than he intended. He was about to come after me and I'll admit I was a little flustered, but I was ready. However, thankfully a policeman, who were all out in force to stop riots, came and quickly threw him to the ground and arrested him. Later, I found out he had a knife on him which he admitted to almost reaching for. That was a close one! _________________ "Never hit a man while he's down; kick him, its easier"

I probably would have done w/e I could to get the knife away from me, and probably run. In a real situation, you have about a 5% chance of living if you are in a knife fight...without a knife in your own hand! Best idea is to slam them to the ground and run like hell. Honestly, who the hell is going to make fun of you for that. Most guys with knives aren't going to go for the direct thrust or overhand drop, they are going to try to cut you from neck to groin. Just get outta there. _________________ "Never hit a man while he's down; kick him, its easier"
