I currently bike more than I run because i believe it is better for you. It works out more muscles, and you can cover more distance in a short time. I also don't put my bike in low gears when doing uphill riding to reduce the strain. I think people with leg problems like to bike more also... What do you guys think?

Biking is great but as with anything there are pitfalls. Because your pedal stroke doesn't quite lock out your leg it can lead to shortening of the hamstrings - make sure you stretch them before & after your biking workout.

I too prefer running for fitness, but I must say I enjoy biking more. When I say biking I mean off road biking - in fact, I much prefer off road running to road running too. After several failed products I seem to have found a bike that will stand up to the punishment I give it off road. Having snapped two frames & killed several wheels on previous bikes I have found one that will take anything I throw at it. It's butt ugly though It has a big strong frame butt a colour scheme that's a definate "yeuch!" It's a "KONA Roast" if anyone's interested in these things

I run for fitness because it's proven that you get the best workout from running, but I also prefer biking but I BMX. I own a Diamondback Viper XXL
