I was without a teacher for a while in 2003, I found this very reputable dojo in Houston, the sensei was above 6th Don or above in 3 different arts of Karate (shindo jenin ryu) ,Judo and Kendo . anyway he said that I need to start from the white belt which I did, after about a year, twice a week practicing with him, one day he asked about my name, I asked him how come he doesn't know my name. He said that he doesn't care till I become a Yudansha and my name goes on the wall. that was the last day I practiced with him.
I knew he was arrogant but he passed the line that day. |
Missed your post but I am wondering if he was a good instructor?
Also him saying your name goes on the wall, does it mean that you become revered for being your dues? _________________ It begins with the knowledge that the severity of a strikes impact is amplified by a smaller surface area. |

I trained at a boxing club for a while that is in an former (golf) driving range building. Strange layout, long skinny building with an overgrown backyard. |

I've practiced in a clearing in the woods off of a hiking trail more than once, and I drove to a beach at the end of a peninsula off of Lake Michigan a few times, too. _________________ 5th Geup Jidokwan Tae Kwon Do/Hap Ki Do

Sounds like some small town horror movie environment. Kind of sounds epic! _________________ It begins with the knowledge that the severity of a strikes impact is amplified by a smaller surface area. |
