I came across this article at a strength training website that I like to frequent, and thought it was an interesting approach describing the OODA loop in regards to coaching: The Coach's Cue - Breaking the OODA Loop

As instructors, I think the vase majority of us deal with this in our teachings quite often, but how often do you as an instructor actually refer to this concept, and then address it in class?

In Shindokan, we're STILL taught/teach as well as being constantly reminded this daily, ever since I began in Shindokan in 1964...

Study your opponent
Study yourself
Make a plan
Carry the plan out

One might say that this concept/methodology/ideology is one of Shindokan's staples; quite effective!! I've spoke about this concept from a Shindokan point of view many times here, one way or another, at KF.

I do recall you talking about those maxims several times here, Bob. It does seem to have quite a bit in common with the OODA loop.
