I can speak from personal experience that spray paint is a BAD idea!

I spray painted a pair of white footgear in neon yellow. They looked cool, but they were very, very, VERY sticky. They looked like those "peeps" marshmallow candies you get at Easter. Eventually, I had to realize that they were completely ruined. But when my feet moved, the judges couldn't help but see the points being made

Maybe if you ask really nicely he will let you wear it. Either that or just wear it to class, and when he sees how awesome you look he'll make everyone buy them.

Thanks. I figured spray paint was a bad idea....... I havent done anything yet. Been sick, and haven't been to class anyway.

Please keep the ideas coming, though. I think I'll try the acryllic paint like previously suggested. I'll try it on a small part first.

Bleach will do nothing to change the color. It will disenfect it. And if the bleach solution is too strong or incontact with the equipment too long it will cause the latex to break down.

Just explain the same thing that you explained to us to your sensei. If he doesn´t allow you to use it then he´s a jerk.
