Yeah! I agree. It's okay for doing Tae-Bo Warm ups, but that's all.

I've never trained in any school with music...the concept seems wierd.
At home...i love it, just raises the energy level to another stage. |

I agree with Jiggy. Music in tradional karate class - no.
Music when working at home, your music to your taste. And yes, it is kind of hard to do a traditional kata with music in the background. I tend to move with the music instead of the timing the kata should have. |

I myself enjoy music in a warm up, but I have discovered that after a discussion with many senior members of the karate school, the adults do not favour much in music for warm ups!
I have also discovered that the kiddies(and myself) find it fun and put more effort into what they do when there is music on!

I think your all getting the wrong idea it not warming up to music that i don't like, It's warming up to music while trying to do karate moves, thats what i don't like the music is cool it make a change to listen to music and it gets you ready and warmed up.
ie try age uke's, age zuki, gedan barai, oi zuki,
mawashi geri, etc all to fast or slow beat
music and you'll find yourself doing it to the beat.
