I don't like Krav Maga. It is a very easy art to learn, and the learning curve rapidly decreases the longer you are in

Oh this Comes from Your years of Experience in Krav Maga? wow i didint know we had any KM blackbelts on this forum since there are only a handful in the US.

They don't even know their own history

Lets not make sweeping generalizations or anything..now no one who does Krav Maga knows it's history

Does the Israeli Army really learn that junk? They can't fight H2H then

I would strongly advise yout to test your theory on a few IDF special forces troops.

Oh yeah they are fighting against poor, starving arabs, I forgot.

Are we getting to the truth here? seems someone has some personal issues with Israel.

What art works?

The art of common sense.

I disagree with that. I consider common sense to be using other people's logic when your own is lacking. I consider common sense to be inferior to your own logic.

Common sense tells you that a small battery is incapable of causing you serious harm - Not true, a man once electrocuted himself (and died) with a 9V battery.

Common sense would tell you that you can't put out an oil/grease fire with water, because it just spreads the oil/grease - This is not true, it does spread it but it still absorbs energy from the combustion reaction into the water and thus will quell the flame if you use enough.

.. and so on. I dislike common sense!

Common sense also tells you that walking down a dark alley in a bad part of town is just plain stupid. Or that picking a fight with 10 guys is also just plain stupid. Common sense tells you when to pick your fights and which ones to avoid. Common sense does more to save a life on the street than you would like to think.

And, no, it is not common sense that tells us water can't put out a oil/grease fire. That's what someone said in elementary school.

I've never experienced any adverse effects from the above. You might try dressing/acting like a Nazi when in those situations. People fear Nazis.

Well, yes, but common sense tells us that they aren't full of it. Which they are.

no, common sense tells us to find out things for ourselves and not listen to people whose experience in the matter might be questionable.

it isn't common sense that tells you "they aren't full of it", it's your own stupidity.

going back to your original example of water on oil.

how much water do you need to quell an oil pan on fire?

Back to the original question, we can argue all day long about which art is "better" for this or that. The reality is, we don't know what the schools in your area are like. The "worst" art taught by the best teacher is probably better than the "best" art with the worst teacher. Don't get too caught up in the names. Some styles do have some overarching emphasis, but that can vary from school to school depending on the instructor. Different instructors can teach the same art with a different emphasis, so it's impossible to say that this art is better than that art. More accurately, which school has the best package for you. Watch some classes, talk to the instructor and tell him what you want. Soon enough you'll know which is for you. Asking on here is just an open invitation for "My style can beat your style up" conversations.
