well, your first statement is a bit daft, what were you doing on a fast moving conveyer belt anyway?
the situation is dangerous because it contains an element of risk. conveyer nelt moves, you fall, hit ground, break a bone or two.
that isn't common sense, it's a probable result.
as for your second situation, i don't think it's valid because the reactions are determined by the individual. for a highly trained martial artist, the sensible action may be to disarm the guy.
like i say, common sense is the thing that tells you that driving close to the edge of a cliff is dangerous. _________________ post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are.

Of course, looking at what Warp Spider said from a different angle, if the guy did run over to him or try and harm him, he would have something to swing at the guy attacking, and by making him move over to him, have a good defensive move.
Although if i was in that situation, i'd probably have screamed at the top of my voice while throwing something at the guys face to put him off. disarm, kick to the... *ahem*... and a rising elbow into the teeth.
but yes... i would agree that having the intent to set it on fire would be... against everything you should.
but hey, its just MO |

And my friend injured his ankle jumping off a 4-foot stool.
But then again, using anticdotal evidence, 3,600 feet is a safe height: Auckland, New Zealand: In August of 1993, Freemantle's main and reserve parachutes failed to open. He fell 3,600 feet and landed in a shallow duck pond. He walked away with just a small cut over his left eye. _________________ www.clearsilat.com |
