how about this.........in florida we will be having armed national guard at all the airports......i never thought that the reality of an armed military would ever be in the streets of the U.S.A., but here it is!

is this happening in other states also?

We haven't put the military at any Canadian airports, as far as I know. However at Pearson Airport in Toronto they have had tactical officers (complete with helmets body armour and machine guns) from the local police on patrol in all terminals since the attacks.

****pits
U shouldent censor that, only sick people get a different impression of that

But anyway i have been on Cnn's home page where i read that the president i'm some other people actually had been discussing whether they should have armed air marshalls on their flights or not, but I think that they will have Officers on planes from now on.

Sky marshals are an EXCELLENT idea. They're only on flights going into and out of Reagan though, at least right now.

well kickbutt its not like they are just gonna hand over a piece to every pilot and not teach them how to use it! like they are gonna take some sort of firearms course to learn how to use a gun

Not trying to start an arguement - it's just simply my opinion...I just think that a pilot already has his hands full with his job at hand - besides, there's more to it than just learning to shoot a gun.

no your are absolutely right..it wont come to pilots being armed but to have air marshals..and i dont think they need to be armed either..if they have good security screening on the ground so no weapons make it into the plane ..then air marshals with extensive martial arts training and tonfa should be adequate (hey marshal arts get it?)
