Hey Kickchick,
heres the official recepie .....

Tiger Balm recipe:
Ingredients: % by weight amt. needed for 56oz. batch
Menthol crystals 20% 9.6 oz.
Camphor blocks 32% 15.36 oz.
Bees wax 20% 9.6 oz.
Petroleum jelly 4% 1.92 oz.
oil of clove 8% 3.8 oz.
oil of cajuput 8% 3.8 oz.
oil of cinnamon 8% 3.8 oz.
( optional)ammonium hydroxide 1 oz.
Melt beeswax and petroleum jelly in a pot until completely liquified. Remove from heat, quickly stir in camphor blocks (may help to chop or grate camphor). Add rest of ingredients, stir until consistent, and camphor has melted. Pour into permanent container, and let congeal. The above recipe will make a nice tiger balm equivalent to the commercial white stuff. If ammonium hydroxide is added, it turns red, and adds a little more heat to it.

There is no substitute for the real thing.
Use the Ammonium Hydroxide but do not use more than 1 oz or 1.50z or you might get a rash if you have sensitive skin. Enjoy

yeah... shotochem I am aware of the official ingredients.... however do you have most of that stuff just lying around in your cupboard (I think not...) so the recipe I came up with is (ok not official) but almost the same as what you found on the internet doing your search.
You see my "homegoods" ingredients are basically the same as the menthol/camphor (Vicks), bees wax/petroleum jelly (Vaseline).... and those other spices could also be added to the chili peps too! .... hey experiment! .... this also congeals so Bretty101 if you want a liquid state then warm it up a bit or don't wait until its in its congealed state (just make sure it isn't burning hot! ... ( I hope you're not thinking of drinking this, although I'm sure you'd get quite the buzz!)

Where is Brian Fitzpatrick today? He's in a small cottage mumbling to himself insanities because he is punch drunk... lol.

If its serious you should have someone look at it, you don't want a potential injury that could take you out for a good 6 weeks, especially when u are starting a martial art. If its a case of whining, then PUT up with it.
