I had a question about this form. On the first line, after the second lower block, is it a backfist or a hammer punch? I have to know. Some people told me hammer and others told me back fist. |

My TSD dojang did it as a hammer fist. But it varies from dojang to dojang. I've seen it done both ways at tournies. _________________ Laurie F |

TSD= back fist
Shito Ryu= Hammer fist\block
I like the Shito Ryu application best. Considering that GM KEE "learned the form from a book" he may have just chosen to make it a back fist.
Shito Ryu teachs it as a hammer fist. As you advance you see alternative application as being a downward block, then a perry block (the technique in question), then a foward punch. |

At my school we do a low backfist and then bring our front foot to our back foot and then hammer fist, then step and punch. But yeah, just like anything else, it varies from school to school. _________________ TANG SOO!!! & SEMPER FI!!!
