The two oldest styles of Ninjutsu that are still practiced today are Iga Ryu and Koga Ryu however Over 70 different styles of Ninjutsu have been catalogued/identified. most of them have died out. Most were developed around a series of specific skills and techniques, and when the skills of a particular style were no longer in demand the style would usually fade from existence

ninjitsu uses aiki-jujitsu as the base for its martial arts -aikijujitsu is a secret martial art that was passed down in secret UNTIL the Takeda family disseminated the Takeda Ryu(aikijujitsu) to outsiders.

While ninjitsu developed on its own, from aikijujitsu, Aikido was developed by a man that felt that some spiritual aspects should replace the harsh teachings(in part ) of budo. So, while maintaining the harsh training of budo, but with the intention of being in harmony and not harming the opponent, aikido was born.

Judo was born from jujitsu schools, and the development by jigoro kano. His studies made him conclude that without making the opponent to be off balance, one would not be able to effectively perform a throw.

I was only in ninjutsu for a year before I moved away. And it was an affiliate of the Bujinkan under Hatsumi Soke.

I think that ninjutsu is somewhat used in modern combatives today.

In Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, they don't respect hitting so much. At least I know one school that doesn't.

Does anyone know about that? Why?

Within Kudoki kung-Fu, we practice kujutsu (practical and contempory ABC which is sparring, throws, and ground)

I am ranked 9th kyu in the jinenkan and train at the akikaze dojo and it is a somewhat private class so he teaches us about the martial art frequently and ragnorak pretty muched summed it up that there are styles within ninjutsu but I have only been doing it for about two to three months so I am not positive on some of the other comments
