Angus ; I say you should go and fight.

If you truly believe what you said, then go ahead...

Regardless of the fact that there will be what was it? 10 other people there, if they do anything to manipulate the outcome (which i sincerly doubt they will do - since they seem like they respect the traditionaly way to do things) you and them will both know in youre hearts that the outcome was not fair.

Fight and win, with honour.
Fight and lose, with hounor.

There is nothing wrong with fighting and losing, as long as you fight and lose in an honest and admirable way. But that applies with winning too....

But anyways, as far as I can see - I dont think there are any reasons not go; and if you think that they will gang up on you - kick em in the balls and run! lol - but them trying to do that will only prove what you were saying in the first place.

Yeah well, it's gonna happen... It was a formal challenge by a guy who does karate. Keep in mind here i kinda am the bad guy cos i was dissing his system (BUT IS SUCKS!! IT REALLY DOES!!). So i was asked to come and prove my theories at the dojo. So i will.

I have to watch out for groin kicks though, cos i know that's what they'll be going for. If he goes down into cat stance though i know i have him, cos although the cat stance is designed to deter sweeping it won't deter my back-leg from crashing into it. I doubt he'd b stupid enough to go into catty anyway.

To decide whether it sucks or not isn't really your call. I thought when I first saw karate is was for wimps. Then I realised after I went through it that their are different sides.

Angus, don't be surprised if he beats you. He may not or he may, but to fight properly, you gotta go with a cool head.

Yeah well, i've been doing various styles for most of my life and this was the weakest style i'd ever come across. It was disgusting that so much money was being paid by these people and they were simply not getting value for money.

Anyway, i'm going down to the dojo tomorrow. I'm not gonna go and meditate for the rest of the day or anything. I might just go and do some bagwork. Bah!

Cool head karateka? You're talking to Mr A.A. cOoL!

Yeah, especially since your signature just says your anger is a gift. Really cool head. Trust me, if he is any kind of good fighter, he will have a cool head.

Hah, you've got 'good' fighters and then u have 'cRaZy' people like me... we'll see anyway. I really have no reason to get angry though, but i'm sure to get fired up if i cop a couple of hits, which will probably happen since the dude IS a shodan ho. He trains harder than me, attends classes 4 times a week, and is 2 inches taller than me.

Hmmm....

Angus, why is it you always seem to get into these surrounded by groups things?

It sounds like you already realize that, no matter what you think of a particular art, it's more admirable to keep your mouth shut than to start dis'n it. So I won't lecture you on that.

It was my understanding that if a challenge is made, it is the challenger going to the other school. Since it is he officially doing the challenging, shouldn't it be held either at your new school, or a neutral location if you don't have one yet?

It is my firm belief that there is no bad martial art, only bad instructors. One martial art may be better in certain situations than others (like street fights), but even the most kata ridden, traditional to the 'nth degree, never spar against anyone art is better than not training at all. It will, when taught properly, still instill disipline, confidence, and honor which are traits that are poorly lacking in todays society.

O.k., I'm gettin' off my soap box now.
