Well, perhaps if you got in her guard...

I wouldn't have a problem with it - student/student, or teacher/student - As long as it doesn't cause problems or distractions in learning and training.

"Hey, how about we go and grab a coffee sometime, perhaps walk down to the beach for a bit, practice a bit of grappling..." how can it fail?

I think that if the two persons are in the martial arts because you really like it.. Then both will understand and will try to be serious during you class.
If you have to spar with her, no problem, do it. Then after the class apologize for hitting so hard and offer her a full body massage lol

Live life to the max. We have some couples in our dojo and it works like a charm.

I met my boyfriend at my dojo 1.5 years ago. He was a black belt and I was a white belt (I had only been there for a month).

I admit it was the last thing on my mind at the time and I had already decided that it was a bad idea to date anyone at my dojo. However he asked me out for a drink after class one day and one thing led to another..........

I think if it ended badly I would have definitely quit the dojo (he was there first) but things are still going strong and now we live together.

Because of our schedules we always seem to go on different nights but even when we go together it`s not a big deal. It`s full contact and when we spar he doesn`t go easy on me because I`m his girlfriend, he treats me as he would anyone else of my rank, strength and ability. In fact when I mentioned he was my boyfried to some of the other guys from my dojo at the new year party they were so shocked, they had no idea.

Even when we train at home and he is so strict, he doesn`t mince his words. At first I didn`t like it but now I am so happy to have someone who`s opinion I can really trust.

Things have worked out well for us, maybe we are just lucky!

I've been training with someone for a while who i sorta have a thing for
we talk alot after class i've kinda held back because of the reason why everyone keeps saying don't have relationships in the dojo. There is such a good atmosphere at my dojo the way things are i don't wanna change it.

Years ago I dated someone for 2 years from my dojo. It wasn't a bad experience. When we had fights it made training a little akward but nothing major. when we broke up we continued to train at the same school and we were both adults about things so there wasn't any problems.

That's the best scenario. It happens sometimes to be OK, and sometimes everything goes wrong. It takes some degree of maturity to handle right a breakup
